For centuries, mankind has use "lubricants" and the principle of "lubrication" to overcome friction and to protect surfaces. This is not how DSX works. Exactly the opposite is true. DSX works by the embedment of particles of extremely small size into the microscopic pores or asperities of the surface being treated. Those particles fill the low spots so as to create a smoother surface. The particles fit in the surface, not on it. The particles are made from premium grade fluoropolymer powder of sizes down to .012 micron, (put anotehr way, you could put five billion such particles on a pinhead.
This has three prime benefits. It helps to reduce friction. It helps to impede the adherence of foreign bodies to that surface. And, by being hydrophobic, it helps the treated surface to repel water.
